Things He Never Wants to Hear:

  Honey, we have to talk. Basically, you're going to have to get more creative with your intro if you want him to remain open. That's because this famed phrase indicates a situation out of control -- and a big discussion including... (gasp) feelings!

"Honey, I was thinking" doesn't work either, so why not try a new approach. Insist on an open and honest relationship (on both of your parts) so things don't get out of control. This way, when an issue or feeling needs to be discussed, it's still in the realm of the reasonable and doesn't feel like a chore to him. If talking about anything feels like a chore to him, then don't reconsider the need to talk -- reconsider your man!

  What are you thinking about? While women experience nary a numbed out moment, believe it or not, men's heads aren't buzzing 24/7. His feelings, like his answers, tend to be simple. So if you are lying in bed one evening post-romantic rendezvous and answers that he's thinking of pizza, he really means he is thinking about pizza and not that you have skin that resembles pizza or you look like you've eaten one too many slices.

• Do you think (fill in the blank with girl you know or celebrity) is attractive?As far as a man can tell, he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't on this one… and he's probably right! We women don't really want to know that our guys think of anyone but us (for the most part anyway), so we shouldn't shoot ourselves in the foot by asking! It's normal for any guy (including yours) to think other women are attractive. It's what he does about that (hopefully nothing) that counts. After all, don't you have at least one harmless crush? Whether it's a movie star or the guy in the office down the hall, it doesn't matter. You love your guy. And that doesn't mean you have to tell him about it (guys have fragile egos too)!
